How it works

Three quiet steps. No drama, no surprises.

01

Tell us who

Start with a name, email, phone number, or public handle. More context means a tighter match.

02

We assemble

Owlray reviews public records, company filings, press archives, and open profiles—then connects the relevant pieces.

03

You read

The clear summary comes first. Structured findings and the original sources remain close behind it.

The finished report

A readable answer, not a data dump.

Owlray writes the useful overview first, then lets you move from each sentence to the record that supports it.

  • Identity matches are explained, not assumed.
  • Uncertainty stays visible in the writing.
  • Original sources remain one click away.

The conscience lines

Looking is powerful. The rules should be plain.

01

Only public information.

If a publisher, registry, court, company, or the subject did not make it public, Owlray does not show it.

02

You see exactly what we saw.

Every material claim keeps its original source. No mystery score and no invisible evidence.

03

Your report is yours alone.

Reports stay private to your account. We do not sell, publish, or expose what you search.

Owlray for agents · MCP

Your agent, our sources. One report you can trust.

Bring your agent

Research inside your tools

Connect Codex or Claude Code to Owlray over MCP. Your agent does the reasoning, and Owlray searches the sources and publishes the report.

One credit

A third of the price

A report run with your agent costs 1 credit instead of 3. The credit comes back if the run stops before any billable search.

No deadline

Pick up where you left off

An unfinished run stays open until you complete or cancel it. The finished report is saved to your account as PDF and Markdown.

The model and isolation your agent reports are shown as reported, not verified by Owlray.

Frequently asked

The honest questions.

Looking someone up is sensitive. The limits should be as clear as the findings.

Where does Owlray get its information?

Owlray searches the open web: reporting, public profiles, business filings, court records, podcasts, transcripts, and other pages a person or publisher has made public. We do not access closed platforms, login-gated content, or data-broker lists.

Will the person I search be notified?

No. Running a search does not notify the subject. The report is private to your account, and Owlray never shares who you searched with the subject or with other customers.

How do I know a report is accurate?

Every material claim links back to the public source behind it. Owlray uses AI to organize and summarize those findings, and AI can miss context or make a mistake. Open the cited sources and verify anything important before you act on it.

Can I use Owlray for an employment background check?

No. Owlray is not a consumer reporting agency and is not FCRA-compliant. It must not be used for employment, tenant, credit, insurance, or other regulated eligibility decisions. Use an accredited provider for those checks.

What happens when a search finds very little?

The report says so plainly. Owlray does not pad thin results or turn weak matches into certainty. If a report cannot be assembled because there is no usable match or a technical failure occurs, it will not count against your allowance.
